The service by ALL the staff was beyond perfect.
We faced a shocking situation with rats above our room, which left us feeling uncomfortable. Even after moving to another room, the damp and musty smell was unbearable. The breakfast options were quite limited and not appealing at all.

We appreciated substantial breakfasts and magic views!
The rooms were beautifully maintained and air-conditioned with functional bathrooms. Location: the hotel was adjacent to so many interesting restaurants, and tropical rainforest over a river.

The surroundings are beautiful, very peaceful with lovely well tended gardens and good pool facilities. The staff is pleasant and very helpful (as it seems are all Balanese people) and Ubud town is easily accessible via a free shuttle bus or a ten minute walk up a fairly steep hill. We especially enjoyed walking through nearby forests, rice fields and local villages occupied with smiling hospitable people.
Although the rooms are beautifully situated on tiers within the gardens (each having an outlook into the heart of a living forest) accessibility to and from the rooms is not easy. Depending on which tier a room is situated the number of steps (up and down) can represent a major obstacle for older, unfit or disabled guests especially as the restaurant and street access is at the uppermost level. We were not impressed with the Hotel food but considering the number of tempting dining opportunities in Ubud this did not present a problem. All in all we enjoyed a great goliday experience and we would glady return.

Lush grounds and unique charactor. Generous balcony. good quality and choice of breakfast.
Unclear pricing structures are utilised: Some prices are advertised in US dolars eg. (room cost and spa treatments). On checking out the hotel converts total cost of items purchased to the local currency but gives you a low currency conversion rate. They then put it through their card machine in the local currency (not offering you a choice of which currency you would like to utilise) so in effect you; get charged for a facility they don't provide whilst also receive an unfavourable currency conversion rate (and in most cases you then will face a charge in addition to this from your bank for paying in a foreign currency). This makes the pricing stuructures chosen difficult to calculate accurately and not very favourable to the guest.

Honestly, I had a feeling I could almost give this place a decent review, but the outdated rooms with moldy seals certainly ruined it. I expected a complimentary upgrade after an experience like that. Who serves warm beer? Absolutely unacceptable. The breakfast selection was so basic. It reminded me of I was back in a low-end diner.

The location on the river and the scenery. A regular shuttle bus to Ubud. Our rooms were clean and we were quite comfortable there. It was very relaxing to sit on the verandah and hear the river below. The gardens are wonderful and well kept. .
The restaurant which has a magnificent outlook seems poorly managed. There appeared to be a shortage of cutlery and crockery. Cups and spoons were in short supply at breakfast and the meals were mediocre. As there are no other close restaurants you would need to go into Ubud with the shuttle bus to have meals. Steps might be a problem if you are elderly or have a disability.

Excellent service, friendly and informative staff. Picturesque surroundings. Convenient location - it is out of the town, and you feel like you are in the counryside, but it takes just five minutes to walk to the center of Ubud.
The hotel is located by the road. We had a room at an upper level (the hotel is located in the steep hill) and were separated from the road by a fence, but still it was rather noisy. We stayed at the hotel for two nights, and this was not a major problem, but it should be noted that at least in the upper rooms the road traffic is quite audible. The following is not what we did not like, but for some people it may be an issue - since it is located on a slope, walking around implies going up and down the stairs.

I liked the location being within walking distance of the main street of Ubud. I liked the staff, they were friendly. I liked the spa it was very nice & the setting was lovely, like an underground cave. I liked the room as it was air conditioned & quiet.
I didn't like having to walk up lots and lots of stairs every day to exit the hotel or have breakfast. I missed not having a TV in my room.
